Ah well, when t’ings too quiet somebody have tuh stir up de water… an’ raise ah setta mud in de process.   Dey now discover dat we have law sayin’ dat chilren 12 and 14 years ole could marry, dependin’ on yuh religion… but de same law say de age of consent is 16 or else is jail in yuh pfeffen!

Ah t’ink if de parents give permission is alright or somet’ing so….well all kinda talk start…how dem kinda marriages rare (so is ah earthquake …), an’ it better some people say to make sure de chile marry so she eh go have tuh fen’  for de chile by she self…. yeah, now she go have tuh deal wit’ ah husband on top ah dat! 

Boy, it come dong tuh culture…in TnT now, chilren 12 years still in primary school, and at 14 years dey eh even take ah high school exam self… wat dey could know so much about life if they spendin’ more dan 8 hours ah day in school…..?  Oh gorm man, is common sense, yuh doh have tuh have ah degree for dat….. dem t’ing was for long time, dis is now time. 

If yuh have ah chile at 14 how yuh go understand wat yuh chile goin' t'rough when dey reach 15 or 16?  Yuh was never dat age, yuh was ah mudder, so how yuh go counsel de chile through dey teen age years…?  Ah glad de lady Minister bring dat up, though…. ah mus’ say she is one ah dem who does do she job eh, an’ she have some kinda class about she, not like dem gutter rat dat does pass for man in government dese days….. but tuh come back tuh de point, why de rush…? 

Ah tired tell people is only two t’ing yuh does get life for…big big crime an’…. marriage.   Yuh does get tuh live outside for de secon’ one  J  (kyah, kyah, kyah…).  As if young people eh have enough t’ing tuh worry about wit’out frustratin’ deyself  wit’ more responsibility…ah really doh see de need for debate on dis one….. is like dem cinema show.... rated R…restricted ….18yrs and over….adults only…. ah doh care wat yuh body sayin’…… listen tuh yuh mind…… dat t’ing is like dem self lockin’ doors…. once it lock an’ yuh inside, is hell tuh  get back out…forget about de “brown skin gyul” who did “stay home an’ mind baby”.... de song ever tell yuh wat happen tuh she after she had de baby…..? RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY.....

Well we had ah shower ah rain dere dis week…boy, if yuh didn’t have gills yuh was in plenty pain.   Ah see car lookin’ like river boat, people furniture walk out de house… flood like in de days of Noah…. an’ yuh know everybody surprise…but why…? We know dat every drain in Port of Spain clog up an’ de fellas who build Wrightson Road did probably work for swimming pool company before, because if is one t’ing dey know how tuh make, is water stop in one place…..

Dis is de only place where de art of road buildin’ is still ah mystery… people, yuh cyah build ah road wit’out ah drain… wey de water go pass…?   An is not tuh say dat road buildin’ is ah new t’ing… de Romans build dem thousands ah years ago and some ah dem still standin’…. yes…. it eh have no magic in dat….. an’ dem ministers an’ dem always surprise…. dis is ah “unusually heavy shower” is all ah hearin’…..   Look for de last 9000 years, dis place have two seasons… ah dry one an’ ah wet one….in de wet season, we does get heavy rain…wey de mathematics…..?  

Dat is why dey build ah bus terminus dat have ah boardin’ point wit’ no roof….. so if it rainin’, wen yuh get in de maxi yuh lookin’ like ah wet fowl, an’ yuh clothes stickin’ tuh yuh as doh yuh skin have glue, or risk getting’ yuh eye jook out by somebody wit’ ah umbrella who tryin’ tuh get on de bus an’ closin' dey umbrella at de same time…. an’ as dey close it yuh get ah fresh shower….

An’ den yuh have de Caroni overflowin’ de river bank an’ wipin’ out de farmers an dem crops…. somebody suggest dey dredge de river…. breds, it go full up again, because de mud comin’ from de mountains.. dat is why dey call de Caroni plain ah “flood plain”… it suppose tuh flood…why yuh doh try  an   dredge de Ganges…?    Yeah,….  yuh might succeed….   Yuh have tuh bear in mind de river go flood and have yuh sluice gates etc., ready…   Oh, gosh man Guyana an’ Holland keeping out de whole ocean for years now, yuh cyah fix up ah big canal…..?

Okay, ah goin’ tuh make ah big prediction; call meh mad….   nex’ year we go have some heavy showers of rain sometime between June and November…take dat!    An’ if it happen ah want ah big job, because all dem bright fellas in dey ah sure go be surprise again nex’ year… watch an’ see…!

Only in Trinidad…..   yuh know how we have “PH” drivers in Trinidad, right…..?  Dey eh have no ‘H” license but dey still carryin’ people here an’ dere for ah dollar or ah fifty cents less…… well dey bus’ out all over de place, even in town, near de taxi stands dem fellas blocking traffic an’ tryin’ tuh  take way de taxi dem livin’ …… de Police decide tuh clamp dong on dem, so dey formin’ deyself into groups an’ protestin’ dat de gov’ t hard on dem for stoppin’ ah ILLEGAL activity….. now, dat eh bold faceness….?!!     Dey even vex because de gov’t now have bus runnin’ in some areas, an’ de people takin’ de bus, because it cheaper…  Buh wha’ wrong wit de gov’t boy?….  Dem too wicked an’ bad….. ah man cyah “pull bull” tuh make ends meet, self….?

Now, ah know it have areas where a lot ah taxis doh run an’ dem fellas used tuh carryin people home an’ ting… but   it have another side tuh de story.. if one ah dem get in ah accident , insurance eh coverin’ no passenger dat get injured…unlike ah normal taxi…an’ on top ah dat all dem taxi men does have tuh do ah yearly inspection to make sure de cars in good workin’ order tuh transport people an’ plus tuh dat, have tuh pay for ah taxi license… so it really eh fair for ah man tuh slip past all ah dat an’ den complain dat de Police comin’ dong on him..

Ah mean, yuh eh care enough ‘bout de people yuh transportin’ tuh make sure dat in case anyt’ing happen dey go get fix up…?   Do de t’ing right nah…… but as usual people want t’ing dey own way, regardless……  An’ wat does grind meh, it have big corruption involvin’ millions of dollars of we money an’ yuh doh see dem protestin’…. no…. dey fightin’ over ah $10……   

But ah could tell yuh, dat crackdown eh go work, eh, because it have Police, Firemen, an’ all kinda Public servant who does be runnin’ “PH”….   so dey go have tuh start puttin’ police in de jail, rather than guardin’ it…..
